June 2025 Newsletter

With the financial year wrapping up, rainy weather settling in, and school holidays just around the corner, June can be a challenging month – physically and mentally. This month, we’re sharing wellness tips and seasonal insights to help you stay mobile and feel your best.

This month we’re exploring:
✔️ Managing EOFY stress with chiropractic care
✔️ Tech neck: What the latest research says
✔️ Why your body might feel stiffer in cooler weather
✔️ Rainy-day ideas for the July school holidays

End of Financial Year Stress – You’re Not Alone 💼

DC-june-1 (1)Deadlines, financial reviews and wrapping up projects can lead to higher stress levels – and your body often feels it first. Stress can tighten muscles, disrupt sleep and even affect posture. Chiropractic care may help regulate the nervous system, relieve muscular tension, and support better sleep quality – all helpful tools during stressful periods.

A 2021 study published in Frontiers in Neurology highlighted that spinal adjustments may improve heart rate variability – a strong indicator of stress resilience and nervous system regulation (Holt et al., 2021). Regular chiropractic care may support a greater sense of calm and balance through EOFY chaos.

Tech Neck – A Modern Challenge 📱

DC-june-2The Australian Chiropractic Association’s recent report into Tension Neck Syndrome (aka tech neck) found:

  • 64% of Australians experience neck pain
  • 24% report increased irritability
  • 23% have disrupted sleep
  • 20% notice poorer concentration
  • Women are 43% more likely to experience productivity loss

The rise in screen time and mobile use has contributed to what’s often called tech neck – discomfort related to prolonged head-forward posture.

Staying aware of posture, incorporating regular movement breaks, and seeking professional advice where needed may help manage these effects. Chiropractic care focuses on improving spinal function, which some people find helpful in managing postural strain.

Cooler Weather = Stiffer Joints? 🌧️

DC-june-1June is one of Perth’s wettest months. While cooler weather doesn’t directly cause joint pain, it may contribute to sensations of stiffness – especially if you’re moving less. Staying mobile is key. Chiropractic care is focused on improving joint mobility, which can assist some individuals in maintaining comfortable movement during the colder months.
