Residents of Dalkeith Chiro are being encouraged to ‘Just start walking’ for their spinal health and overall wellbeing as part of this year’s World Spine Day on the 16th of October.
In launching the 2011 special day, The CAA has said while we are all living in more mobile times, thanks to new technology, physically we are less active.
“The human body is designed for movement, so to keep your spine at its best we need to stay active.
“Walking is a terrific exercise for many reasons: it’s easy to organise, can be enjoyed individually or as part of a group, has low stress impact on the body, is suitable for all ages, and is free,” The CAA said.
World Spine Day is a great opportunity to remind us all about the importance of good spinal health – and that the health of your spine can affect your overall health and wellbeing.
The CAA is also encouraging people to make sure they are walking right. Try these simple tips next time you step out:
- Maintain upright posture throughout – head up and body balanced
- Slightly increase your arm swing making hand crosses over the mid-line of the body
- Stride out briskly with relaxed hips
- Remember to breathe fully and deeply.
So, Residents of Nedlands, Crawley, Claremont, Cottesloe and Swanbourne, Lets start walking today.
