Drugwatch.com has brought to our attention the recent Johnson and Johnson recall of its ASR XL Acetabular metal-on-metal hip replacement system. The system is said to have failed 1 in every 8 patients. The hip replacement system can cause swelling pain and more seriously Metallosis which is caused by the rubbing of metal on metal within the system.
